The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OBG & GYNEA) at IIMSR, Integral University, Lucknow is a vital medical specialty focused on women's reproductive health. It combines two main areas: obstetrics, which deals with pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, and gynaecology, which focuses on the health of the female reproductive system including the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and breasts.
This department provides comprehensive care for women across all stages of life — from adolescence to menopause and beyond. Common services include antenatal care, safe delivery (normal and caesarean), postnatal care, family planning, infertility treatment, menstrual disorder management, and screening for cervical, endometrial, ovarian and breast cancers.
The department is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools including ultrasound, fetal monitoring systems, and minimally invasive surgical techniques such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. It plays a crucial role in both patient care and medical training, with an intake of 250 MBBS students per batch and 6 postgraduate MS (OBG) students per batch.
